i've jus discovered u guys have a class blog.. nice one! glad to see u're doing stuff to keep in touch, despite having gone ur separate ways =)
so, how's everyone doing? this is update time! coping well with jc / poly life, i hope? bogged down by common tests and projects? struggling to keep up with lecturers whose accents u cant make out and whose speech throws u off tangent? but ultimately, enjoying urselves??
anyway, i guess by now, some of you might have heard.. that i'm leaving zhss. so yes.. this is me writing to u.. to officially let u know, and for you to hear from the horse's mouth... that my last day at zhss is 21 june.
after much thought.. and u cannot imagine how much thinking i've been doing.. i've decided to pursue other interests and see what's in store for me out there in the world. my attempt to globalise my perspective. i'll be heading to sydney to pursue my masters for the next 2 yrs. so i guess i won't really have the opportunity to see many of u.. unless there happens to be a class reunion whenever i'm back in sg? afterwhich, i might return to teaching.. perhaps explore teaching in an international school.. or i might move into corporate communications, entirely. but that's a decision i'll make when the time comes.
so currently, i'm frantically trying to get rid of 'junk' i've collected in the last 5 years i've been in the sch, write reports which the P wants me to complete before i go off, plan my holiday to HK (whee!!) and of course, MARK geog test papers that have just come in yesterday (jun hol prog.. something u're all too familiar with).
well, i guess i should take this opportunity to say a number of things that i might not have necessarily said in explicit terms to you, whilst i was ur FT for 2 years..
i think u guys are a really great bunch of pple.. u knoe when to study hard and when to play hard and u've really done me proud with ur excellent 'o' level results. i'm really glad to see that many of u have made it to places that u WANT to be at.. and that u're happy wherever it is that u are. it always brightens up my day, seeing so many of u come back to see ur teachers at zhss. i do hope that in the 2 yrs u've been with me, i've given u a learning experience which goes beyond just mere book knowledge.. and that i've taught u stuff other than just knowing how to answer ss questions or describe and account questions for geog. u r a very special bunch of pple and the diversity of characters in 4e1 truly makes u a unique class that stands out amongst ur peers. as much as i nag and scold u and do my 'auntie' thing.. i hope u're able to see that i've said all the things i've said to u in the past 2 years, for ur own good, and that as ur teachers, we really do want the very best for all of u. for now, i want to wish all of u the very best in ur future and to encourage u to pursue ur dreams. we may or may not have the opportunity to meet up in the near future but know that each and every one of u is always in my prayers and i will always be keen to know how all of u are doing, as u progress in life.
